Introducing Pastor Susan…...
 
Rev. Susan Oeffler was formerly serving Briggsville UMC, Moundville UMC, and Trinity Endeavor UCC. These churches are located between Wisconsin Dells and Portage, WI. Susan is excited to be serving Rice Lake: First and Canton UMC’s come July 1st. She has been in ministry for 20 years, 15 years as a pastor and the other 5 years doing various roles such as Director of Evangelism, Youth Coordinator and Urban and multi-cultural ministries intern.
 
Susan is a Midwest native, growing up in Minnesota and then moving to Frederic, WI during her high school years. Susan’s parents continue to live in Frederic after all these years. She served for 5 years as a local pastor in rural Wisconsin communities while finishing her undergraduate work. Susan received her BA in Religion and minor in Communications at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN in May 2006. Susan moved to California that summer to attend Claremont School of Theology and received her Master of Divinity in May 2009. While in California, she transferred into the Cal-Pac Annual Conference and served churches in the Los Angeles and Long Beach areas. Susan returned to Wisconsin in 2015 to be closer to family. She also transferred back into Wisconsin Annual Conference and became a Full Elder last June.
 
Susan has a passion for ministry, worship, pastoral care, children and youth, and social justice issues. Some of her ministry focuses include multi-cultural churches, revitalization and growth, evangelism and outreach, worship arts/altar décor and reconciling ministries. While in CA, Susan was an active member of CLUE- Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice, an organization that goes to the root of social justice problems to advocate for change while supporting those who are struggling due to injustice. She served on the Cal-Pac Ann Conf worship design team and was head of Visual Arts for Ann Conf worship. Currently, Susan is part of North Central District Strategy Team (DST) for Wis Ann Conf.
 
Apart from work, Susan is the proud mother of 3 grown children, Curtis (Aubrey), Chelsey, and Chad (Jen), and three grandchild, Emersyn, Mason, and Beckett. For years, Susan worked in the family flower shop and greenhouses in Frederic as a floral designer and co-manager. Her other career positions include realtor, interior designer, and District Manager for Christmas Around the World. She enjoys traveling, gardening, photography, decorating, cooking, singing, and crafts.
